Taiwan Trip (30th June - 6th July 2009)






Then we settled down and met up at the lobby to look for our dinner. We were super super hungry cos the budget airline, Jetstar don’t provide any meals or drinks L we were all noobs, so we went in to a Korean restaurant, but the food was all right. But the drink was really disappointing, esp chyeyan. So we decided to look for milk tea, since all my friends esp benji asked us to try when we’re at tw. So we found ’50 feng’ and bought it. OH MY, the milk tea and pearls are the best man. And its less than SGD1.50 . We walked ard Xi Meng Ding after our dinner and bought some accessories. The first thing I bought is for yixiu and steph, not for myself. Hahahhaa


Then we were’nt tired, cos sitted on the plane and bus for too long. We didn’t want to sleep so soon once we reached tw. So Karine suggested to go party world, which actually we planned to go on the last night. Hahahha, py and I supported this idea and we went. We were stopped by the ‘bouncers’ cos we need to prove that we’re above 18. we didn’t bring any card with us so we have to go all the way back to hotel again. Ok la, its just a street away. Hahaha. The party world is really good, compared to Sg one. I supposed the entire building belongs to them, and our room is at level 9. it’s really big. The service is good, sound system is good. There’s even a washroom in every room. The room is clean, and they provide mic covers. We sang until almost 5am and went back to our hotel. Then we went to sleep and woke up at 11am. Didn’t sleep nuch on the first night.

DAY 2 - 1st July 2009



On the second day, we went to the hello kitty café! :D we all got so excited once we stepped in. the ambience and atmosphere was really good. The seats, lightings, and even the staffs blended in very well with the theme of the café. It was also quite big, a 2-storey restaurant. We had our lunch there and it was quite crowded too. Thank God we managed to get seats cos we heard we need to bk first before we go. But we didn’t get to contact them on the first day. The food wasn’t that fantastic but well, consumers visit the café for the experience, not really for the food. It’s quite ex though, we paid almost $30 each for the meal.



After that we went to SOGO, tried to find the brand Porter for fang and stephie but couldn’t. so I reckon only xin guang san yue has it. then we went to Watson’s and bought some beauty products, snacks and water! Haha, karine spent the most there la. There are like 4 levels of Watson’s can. Then we decided that we shld go back to hotel, put down our stuffs before heading to wu fen pu. Just before we goes back to hotel, we went to ‘kang shi mei’ to get the masks. I bought ard 7 boxes of masks, and I’m the one who bought the least ok. Hahaha k la, cos im the only person who uses masks at my house, so these boxes of masks, I can actually used until end of the year. J but there’re really really cheeeeap. At almost evening time, we head down to wu fen pu, a place where all the girls who love. Cos there are cheap clothes and many many apparels to choose! Hahaha.. we managed to catch the last train before midnight and went back to rest. Can you imagine, we shopped for I think 6 hours at wu fen pu, but we haven’t even walked half of it. I think the most 2 lanes only. We were shocked ourselves. Hahaha


DAY 3- 2nd July 2009

On the third day, we went to Modern Toilet Restaurant for lunch. The lunch portion is really really big. We didn’t really expect this and I hardly ate my rice. The decorations of the modern toilet are really interesting. Our table is a bathtub, with a shower head above us, served us with food in a mini mini toilet bowl. Not to forget, our seats are real toilet bowls. Hahahah, that’s why not very comfy.

After that we went to shilin for another shopping spree! Before that we walked around xi men ding. I guess the price is a lil steep compared to night mkts cos it’s like the prime area where youngsters gather and its convenient also. Karine went to make her specs there and chyeyan also bought 2 boxes of contact lens. They said its much cheaper compared to Sg. Back to shilin, we reached ard evening time. We strolled ard and managed to buy some snacks on the way! This is the utmost BEST thing abt shilin compared to wu fen pu, cos there are food as you shop! I was almost begging to my friends that I want food the day before cos I was really famished and we ate dinner at 10 plus. zzzzzzzz but its different in shilin! Cos I can buy food as they shop, there are many different types like ah zhong mian xian, shui jian bao, some frog egg drink and I freaked out after seeing the sign with frogs pictures. LOL but it drizzles when we shop halfway. we went home earlier on the second day cos most of us are almost almost broke already.

DAY 4- 3rd July 2009

On the fourth day, which we reckon is our sadest day. Hahahhaha cos my friends were complaining that they do not have money already and we still have 3 more day to go! We admit that we spent too much on the first few days. Thank God I controlled a little and I still can make it la. Hahahhaa, you know although we go overseas for holiday, we still must have rational thinking when spending money. Cos it doesn’t really ache that much when we spend foreign money. I always said, its like playing monopoly.

Hahahaha. We went to ‘dan dan wu’ for lunch and this day we really came out very late. I was complaining that we shld make good use of our time. I mean, yeah I know its holiday and we shld sleep moreee. But we’re on a holiday! Shld use the time to explore, eat and shop more! Rather than staying in the bed.

Ohya! Before lunch, we went to Carefour to get some stuffs. I went to get the instant noodles which my bro has been pestering me to get it. I got some for ben to try too cos its really AMAZING. Hahaha and I also got a bk for my dad to read. Chyeyan got a transformer toy for her nephew la. Haha these things can actually be found in a supermarket! Yeah, then after lunch, we went to the underground market recommended by chyeyan. But it doesn’t has anything much so we decided to go back to wu fen pu. Before going home that day, we went to eat the ru rou fan. It was reallllly nice! Chyeyan and I shared the si sheng tang. The food is really cheap and nice :D

DAY 5- 4th July 2009

The fifth day! This is one of my favourite day, so to speak. Hahahha cos its not only shopping and shopping only, we ate quite a lot, and took many photos, seen nice sceneries!
We woke up, and went down to xi men ding for lunch. Before that, we went to collect karine’s specs!

For lunch, we ate ru rou fan again, but with many other stuffs. Had a great lunch and after which, we went to eat some desserts. Its like ice monster in Sg. We had mango, kiwi and strawberry ice with pearls and sorbet. It was great!

After a good lunch, we shop ard xi men ding before going to Dan Shui Yu Ren Ma Tou. Okay its really a little far cos its like right at one end of the mrt station. We had a good chat on the train and reached Dan Shui! The weather is really hot and warm so we opened our new umbrella! The 3 of them wore shades and took umbrella which made them look really like tai tai. LOL. We roamed ard and went into the dan shui street. And we got conned of our drinks and wasted our money. Ah nvm. The stuffs that they sell there is quite different from shilin and other places we went. Then we saw NaRaYa! It’s the Thailand brand of bags, pouches and such. I didn’t get a chance to visit Thailand to buy, so I bought a pouch there and the other for Cindy J and only then, I realised I brought out my shades, which I though I forgot. Hahahahahaha we got soooo tired and wanted to give up gg to the dan shui yu ren ma tou. But in fact I wanted to go so badly. Thank God in the end we decided to go!

Hahaa so we walked back to the mrt station and took the bus there. It took ard 20 mins for us to reach there and it the sky was soooo beautiful when we reached. It was sunset, a best time for us to take photo! So we take many many photos, had a great time. Then we walked to the bridge and then, my camera battery finally died on me after 5 days. Not bad la. LOL the bridge is call qing ren qiao and you suppose to walk with your lover holding hands to the end and you’ll be together forever. Then chyeyan was teasing karine abt her coming there with ls. Hahaha, so we wanted to hold our hands together also so that our friendship wld never end! But we forgot and let it be. Hahaa. Ohya, it was such a coincidence that xiao jing teng was there singing when we went. I tell you, chyeyan was over the moon. She didn’t want to leave the place. So we listened to him singing a couple of songs, before chyeyan agrees to go off. Oh oh and jolin was his special guest that day. We went back to Shilin on that day cos its on the way. This time round, we went to the eating area and bought all the nice food. We didn’t get to shop at all cos after that we went to buy some local products for our family and friends.

DAY 6- 5th July 2009

It’s a Sunday morning! I woke my friends up and asked them to accompany to attend Taipei BOL with me! Hahahah. Thank you dearies for waking up earlier to attend the Sunday service with me J we were slightly late, cos we didn’t know the way. Hahha I have to asked ard.. the worship was rather different. The choir took almost the entire stage and I could only see piano and keyboard. I had communion with the church too! Haha and I felt that the congregation was really enthusiastic and responsive. Fyi, it’s a main service. They’re all adult and I thought my friends and I are the youngest. The message that day was abt when we’re in unison, we can fly like an eagle! After service, I went to the bkshop to get a vcd Ps Kris wanted and then I walked ard the place. Saw this ling liang nursery and I took the pictures for huimin! Hahah..

Then after that we went to the convenient store to buy some drinks but we were stuck there cos it started raining. We cabbed down to gong guan and walked ard before gg back to the hotel to rest.

Then we went down to Miramar Entertainment Shopping Centre after our rest and I finally get to see the ferris wheel! Cos my friends were all broke, so I didn’t get to take the ferris wheel. L I’m so gg to take it the next time I visit the place! Hahahah, then we went to Taipei 101. okay again we didn’t have the money to go up to the viewer place. But anyway, many of my friends said it was expensive larh. But at least, we went there! Hahahha….

Nth much to write for the last day. Cos we had a busy day packing, unpacking, throwing things and all. we had a weighing machine at the hotel. a very-not-accurate weighing machine. here it goes. cos the limit for all luggages to check in is 20 kg. so all of us exceed a lottttttt esp our dearest karine. being the one who spent the most, definitely her luggage is the heaviest. the first time she weighs was 36 or 38kg. can you imagine, its almost my weight! hahaha. then we were frantically throwing the stuffs we can, wear all the clothes on us. i wore 9 pieces of clothing on me okay. py and karine wore more than 10. hahahah and we move on when karine's luggage was 28kg. she gave up cos the time is up for us to go. we took the bus to the airport and went to check in. we were actually very nervous when we checked in cos we didnt know how much we need to pay and all. when karine's luggage on weighing, it shows 17kg. !!!!!!!! its a freaking 10kg difference! we were all shocked, but also relieved. then we started to shift our hand carry bags stuffs to our luggages and i checked in 3 bags. hahah.. thank God, if not we need to really pay a lot.

Coming back to Sg was faster and we really couldn't bear to leave taiwan :( chyeyan and karine have to go back to work, py and I had to go school. AHH, and i started school the day right after i came back. NICE :) but it was a great time spent with the girls. i really really enjoyed my time and i hope there are more chances like that! maybe next time evelyn pj benji ek could join us :D
